Upcoming Events

January 23 - Ecumenical service with St. Constance.  This is our 3rd annual service with our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ.  This year's event will be held at St. Constance starting with fellowship and scripture discussion at 5:30 followed by a service led by Pastor Matt and Father Leo at 7:00.

February 12 - Annual Chili Cook-Off.  Anyone entering the competition, must have their chili to the church by 4:30 to allow the judges time to sample all the entries. Doors open at 5:30 for guests.  Everyone is welcome.  Music will be provided by Pastor Matt.  Join us for this fun and yummy time!

February 14 - Senior Citizens Luncheon - Come and celebrate Valentine's Day with your friends at Southminster.  Serving of beef stew starts at 12:00 noon.  Just $3.00 per person.

April 7 - Deacon's Spring Blood Drive.  Red Cross volunteers will be at the church from 1:00-7:00 for blood donations.

April 9 - Easter Egg Hunt.  1:00 on the church grounds.  All are welcome.

May 15 - Crop Walk.  The Coalition responding to Overcome Poverty is a world wide organization which helps alleviate hunger by sponsoring a six mile walk. July 30 - Mud Hens game in Toledo

August 26-28 - Family camping weekend at Sterling State Park.

Presbyterian Women's Circles

We now have three groups of women who meet monthly to study scripture and enjoy fellowship.  All of the circles;  Rachel, Sarah and Ruth select charities each year to receive special donations from these groups.  

Rachel Circle meets the 1st Monday of each month at the church at 12:00

Ruth Circle meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the church at 10:00 am

Sarah Circle meets the 3rd Monday of each month at the home of Terri Stiles at 7:00.

Book Club

A new book is chosen each month for the group to read and a meeting is held at the end of the month to discuss the book.   

Senior Luncheons

An outstanding home-cooked meal is prepared for the senior citizens of our community the first Monday of each month September through June.  For a nominal $3, seniors can enjoy a full course meal and dessert.  All seniors are welcome.

Roast Beef Dinners  

From May through September Southminster hosts a monthly Roast Beef dinner. For a nominal fee ($10 adults, $5 children ages 4-12, under 3 free) your family can enjoy a home cooked roast beef dinner with all the trimmings.  This monthly event is for the entire community.  Come join us for good food and fellowship.  

Other Events

Throughout the year, Southminster holds many other events to bring our members and the community together such as:  Game night, potluck dinners, Christmas party, fellowship dinners, ice cream socials and many more.  Upcoming events will always be posted at the beginning of this page, so check back often so you don't miss out!
